Johnny Law started the Pistol Packin' Daddies band under the name of The Hellfire Trio back in 2001, but later changed it to the Pistol Packin' Daddies. For the next few years the band played around Western Australia and the lineup changed a number of times during this period. In 2003 the first CD was released by the band called Doggin' It Home. Since that first release the band have played many major international and national festivals, seducing audiences across the globe.
They toured Europe and the US in both 2006 and 2009, then Europe again in 2012.
Johnny has worked with a range of talented musicians from around the globe both live and in the studio and in 2016 the band is planning to record their 5th full length CD.
With 2016 being the band’s busiest year ever, you’re sure to find the band playing at local venues in Perth such as The Mustang Bar or Alabama Song both in Northbridge or the Hyde Park Hotel in North Perth, Western Australia, as well as other new and exciting venues that have finally realised how great 1950’s inspired music really is.
In 2017 the band will tour Europe to promote the, as yet unnamed, new CD.
Jay from the Opening Set
"They had a very raw, real, traditional rockabilly sound. To me, they have a mix between Johnny Carroll, The Johnny Burnette Trio, and early Elvis Sun Records stuff and throw in a bit of a modern sound as well."
"With an energetic live act, this band shows off its style of classic rockabilly mixed with swing, rare vocals, catchy ballads and even some Mexican influences."
